Tony Exum Jr. is a Denver-based jazz saxophonist whose music lives somewhere between soul, groove, and pure emotion. He's performed across Colorado and beyond — carrying a sound that's deeply rooted in Black musical tradition and completely his own.

When we approached Tony about a collaboration, he didn't just hand us a flavor — he handed us a feeling. "It should feel like a Sunday morning," he said. "Warm, unexpected, something you want to sit with."

That conversation became the Blue Velvet Lagniappe.

The Signature Bread

Lagniappe — a New Orleans word meaning "a little something extra." That's exactly what this bread is. A rich blue velvet crumb swirled with blueberry cream cheese, finished with a honey-butter glaze that blooms in the oven.

Bold on the outside. Smooth and soulful within. Like Tony's music — it hits you in layers.

Each month we partner with a Colorado creative — musician, visual artist, poet, or community figure — whose work resonates with our mission.

We Build Together

We sit down with the artist and design a bread that captures their personality, their flavor, their story. Every ingredient is intentional.

Limited Run, Live Events

The signature bread is available for the full month. We also host at least one live event with the artist — music, tasting, community.
